Valerie Townsend
Board Chair Valerie Townsend is a proud native Texan who cherishes her Mexican-American roots and upholds strong family values. Together with her high school sweetheart, Bryan, she has built a fulfilling life centered around love, dedication, and a shared passion for Jesus and all things Aggie. Throughout their journey, Valerie's husband, also a Texas A&M graduate, has provided constant support and love. Together, they have raised their son, Carter, who is currently enrolled at Texas A&M University, proudly continuing the family tradition as a fourth-generation Aggie, and set to graduate as part of the Class of 2024.
Valerie holds a Master's Degree in Educational Human Development as well as an undergraduate degree in Human Resource Development with a minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University. With a solid foundation in people management and business acumen, she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the same field, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to professional growth and knowledge enhancement. Valerie's professional path led her to Qatar, where she spent nine years working for Texas A&M University at Qatar. Her time abroad not only broadened her perspective but also enriched her understanding of diverse cultures and societies. She gained valuable international experience, forged lasting friendships, and created cherished memories. Since returning to Texas in 2022, she has been serving as the Employment, Benefits & Wellness Manager at Prairie View A&M University. During her leisure time, Valerie relishes moments spent with Bryan and Carter, indulging in her passions for movies, sports, and traveling. Whether cheering on her favorite teams, exploring new destinations, or immersing herself in the world of film, she finds joy and relaxation in these activities, continually seeking new adventures and broadening her horizons. Valerie's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ is an integral part of her life, providing her with solace and strength. As a devoted follower, she actively supports initiatives that promote Healing Faith and their mission to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Valerie Townsend embodies the spirit of a compassionate Texan, devoted wife, dedicated mother, and proud Aggie.
