Partnering with Healing Faith offers a special opportunity to help educate, equip, and empower families in Uganda in the fight against malaria."
THIS IS Peninah's story
This Summer Peninah came to the Nile River Malaria center 7 months pregnant. She had given up hope and didn’t think she and her baby would live due to the intense struggles she was having with malaria. Peninah was showing signs of losing the pregnancy experiencing severe lower abdominal pains, back pains, vomiting, diarrhea and very high fever due to a high parasite load within the malaria.
Any pregnant mother with malaria is marked as a severe case since both the mother and unborn baby are both affected and various problems can unfold within a short period of time without treatment. Healing Faith’s two great midwives, Hope and Immaculate, immediately took action to ensure that the mother received the proper medical treatment including medication; treatment she and her baby needed to fight this horrible disease. We are thankful to the Lord to report to you that the treatments were successful and Mom and preborn baby both survived!
THIS is martha's story
In July 2023, 2 year-old Martha was taken to our new Nile River Malaria Center 2 very, very sick experiencing convulsions, vomiting, diarrhea and a fever 102+, all from the bite of a single mosquito. But this is the beauty of what your giving accomplishes most every week – the saving of many lives!
There is so much more to tell – the best is last. In small children malaria can progress very quickly and turn deadly in a matter of days. Due to the malaria education that you have helped us provide local communities, Martha’s 23rd year old mom Sharon, knew to bring Martha in right away.
Education is part of the story but also a thoughtful, trained and Christ focused staff attuned to the needs of thousands each week.
Nurse Hope acted quickly and gave Martha the appropriate medicines to lower her temperature and help stabilize her. By the next day Martha had already greatly improved.

THIS IS simon'S STORY
Meet Simon and his beautiful family who have been patients several times at our Lake Victoria Malaria Center 1. I feel his story will connect to the everyday impact, as well as the foundation of care for families, your giving is providing. They used to seek healing through witchcraft! Malaria has been so intense that it has affected he and his wife’s ability to earn a living wage for the family until just a few years ago thanks to your partnership in ministry.
The family first received education in 2017 when their 1 year old son Jacob was near death due to anemia from a severe case of malaria. Thankfully, they discovered Healing Faith, where they received testing, lifesaving treatment and vital education. They now have the knowledge of when to seek treatment and how to help prevent malaria. This has been a successful 6 year relationship.
With Father’s Day in June, we celebrate Simon who really wants to be a good father and take care of his family!

tHIS IS jOHN'S sTORY
Before visiting the Lake Victoria Malaria Center, their family had lost 7 children to Malaria. On February 14, 2023, 10 members of their family were treated for malaria, and 7 tested positive for this disease, 4 of which were quite severe. Thankfully all were treated and they were able to leave the center healthier than when they arrived. On March 15th the family returned with two additional children, both tested positive for malaria. Now that the entire family has been treated for malaria, and educated on how to prevent malaria, the family is overjoyed to be healthy and happy.
this is isma's story
Isma was 5 years old when he came into our malaria center. His family brought him in after 3 o'clock in the afternoon in terrible condition. His Hemoglobin levels were so low at 2g/ml, a normal child's levels would be in the 11-14g/ml range and he was gasping for oxygen. As our team began to treat him, his situation continued to worsen, he needed a blood transfusion immediately along with malaria medication. Because of the quick actions of our team, Isma began to improve slowly as the blood and medication did it's job. His family was so grateful for the Malaria center and our wonderful staff, and gave many thanks for saving their child.
A thank you from namadu
Hello, my name is Namudu and I am 34 years old. My daughter Martha is now 2 months. Thank you so much for the great care at the Malaria Center (Lake Victoria) offered throughout my pregnancy. I suffered with 3 episodes of malaria while I was pregnant, which was all covered and treated by Healing Faith's staff. All of the preventative measures were tried, but due to the climate changes, I continued to become a victim of malaria. Without treatment, Martha would have been born too early. We are surviving in terms of health, due to the healing from your staff. Thank you so much for caring for my family.

This is nakato's story
Nakato (1 year, 8 months) was brought by her mother to the Malaria Center in May 2020 with Nakato in severe condition. Her mother told us, "We were totally losing her. I almost lost my mind seeing the state that my child was in." It was a very scary situation for Nakato and her family, but thankfully we were able to provide life-saving malaria treatment and education. Nakato returned to visit Healing Faith in December, and while she is still fighting off malaria, she is doing MUCH better! Her mom told us that she is so happy to know that Nakato's symptoms are not nearly as severe as they used to be.
Far too many families come to the center with children showing the worst signs of the disease - cycles of fever, dehydration, vomiting, not interested in the environment, anemia, etc. As malaria is the number one killer of children under the age of 5 in Uganda, sadly, many families come with little hope that their child will ever recover. Healing Faith offers hope and treatment for these families and makes every effort to ensure that patients, like Nakato, continue to heal and become malaria free.
